Lynn Collins, Proprietor
I love flowers. As a small child, I arranged the scraps, strays, and leftovers alongside my mom as she created award winning arrangements of cut flowers for county fairs. My own exhibits soon followed, winning best of show several years.
Later, as a stay at home mom, I turned this hobby into a business by creating original silk and dried designs for craft shows across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa. This resulted in bringing home three “Best of Show” awards from the Freeport Festival of Trees.
From this love of flowers and design, grew Picket Fence and the wonderful display area in our Carriage House Shop next to our Victorian home. The Picket Fence repertoire has expanded to include a wide range of contemporary decor as well as unique arrangements that incorporate twigs, lights, burlap, birds, metal containers, and all manner of natural components in a variety of styles to compliment both traditional and primitive decor.
The many creations of Picket Fence are annually highlighted at each of the three seasonal shows that we host in our Carriage House. Several local area artisans join us at these shows offering hand crafted creations of wood, fabric, art, and much more.
